Reflections after the swedish Derby Sale

The weather was a bit sad, but so was the atmosphere, I think..
We didn’t have any horses at the Danish Derby auction, but I felt a completely different good atmosphere there! Both during the day and at the auction itself; that’s how it has been in recent years, and with the brilliant idea behind Royal Lunden, I think Danish trotting sport and Danish breeders can get a much-needed boost.

Walker Wynn was sold to Stall KVM for 775.000 SEK

The buyer base in Copenhagen just needs to be made even broader, but I believe that is also possible with carefully planned marketing around the better chances of participating in major races. By investing in Danish-registered horses and not least – hopefully – continuing and perhaps expanding the Royal Lunden concept, I believe that the Danish Derby auction can become an even bigger, more festive and entertaining event, which will be able to attract even more Norwegian and Swedish customers for the benefit of Danish breeders and Danish trainers.

Wendy Wynn

About our sale in Sweden, I had hoped for at least 1 million SEK. It was 985,000, so not far off.
The distribution was a bit unexpected, though. I don’t quite understand why Wendy Wynn couldn’t attract Swedish buyers; she is eligible to start in Royal Lunden, a big, beautiful black yearling mare who is well-legged. Her video wasn’t the best, but Maharajah on a mare who won 10 races herself and whose hindquarters are incredibly strong with Dimitria on her sire’s side and Lady Ann Reed on her dam’s side should be of more interest.
With just a little research, you can see that Princess Corner’s first offspring disappeared to the Baltics or Russia, so the first one that has had the chance is approved in premium races for a small amateur trainer in Åby.

Jackson Wynn

Jackson Wynn, Face Time Bourbon on a Donato Hanover mare, got a thick knee just before filming. Not lame and not affected by it, but not visually pretty. He also has scar tissue on his right hind thigh, all without significance for the future, but definitely on the verge of portraying him. Otherwise fine, but it’s only fair that he didn’t become super hot.
Now both went back to Denmark and Jeppe Juel’s team, and the gods know that I hope they get revenge and make everyone around Jeppe happy and proud later.

Walker Wynn

Walker Wynn. He is a prime example of how yearlings can develop over the summer. He really surprised me, and the video he made – we were all speechless; an energy and ease, with a ground-breaking trot – and no one chased him, he did it himself, while we just stood there with our mouths open and thought: What is this?
For the first time I had decided to buy back. He was supposed to cost 500,000, but luckily there was a lot of interest, and the fact that he ended up with Bjørn Goop is a scoop for us too.

We only have six foals this year, two Swedish and four Danish. Soon they will be separated from their mothers and then the wintering and upbringing and training to become sweet, independent social individuals will begin.
