Nakiska in impressive finish

NAKISKA (SE) (file photo) delivered a fantastic finish in Friday’s race at Eskilstuna, securing a surprise third-place finish!

Starting from post 12, the 3-year-old Nakiska—trained by Fredrik Wallin and driven by Per Lennartsson—was handled patiently at the start and positioned at the back of the field along the inside rail.

The outsider Giola led from start to finish (splits of 1:12.3/500m and 1:14.7/1000m) and won easily in 1:15.0a/2140 meter.

With 850 meters remaining, Nakiska moved out to the second path, and as they entered the final turn, she was sent on an attack out wide.

There was a significant gap to the leaders around the final turn, but Nakiska finished incredibly strongly to claim third place (17,500 SEK) with a time of 15.3.

4-yo LILLY WYNN (DK)—trained by Celine Samuelsson—also competed at Eskilstuna with Adam Hanley in the bike; unfortunately, she broke stride at the start and finished unplaced in 1:17.1a/2140 meter.

Vince Wynn third after strong performance

3-year-old VINCE WYNN (SE) finished third in tonight’s race at Örebro following a very strong performance.

He was quickest off the mark and took the lead but yielded after 450 meters to the eventual winner, Vancouver Tile, who trottet the first 500 meters at a 1:12 pace and the first kilometer in 1:15.9.

Vince Wynn stayed right with the winner all the way to the finish and was narrowly beaten into third place (17,500 SEK) in 1.13,9a/2100 meter, having trottet the final 500 meters in 1:09.7.

Tough conditions for just his fifth career start.

No Derby-start for Leo Wynn

LEO WYNN (DK) and Jeppe Juel (photo) unfortunately failed to qualify for the Danish Trotting Derby, but finished a respectable fifth after a solid performance.

Starting from post position 2, Leo Wynn had a good run positioned third in the outer line, while the heavy favorite, Look Like Gaagaa, took the lead early on and controlled the race to secure a comfortable victory in 1:14.3a/2500 meters.

Entering the final turn, he improved his position between other horses and briefly moved up to fourth place, but encountered some traffic issues approaching the finish line and had to settle for fifth place (DKK 3,000) in 14.6.

With a bit more luck during the decisive phase of the race, he might well have qualified for the Derby, but it was great to see Leo Wynn performing at his best despite all the challenges Jeppe Juel has faced.

Two Derby-horses in first crop?

Wynn Stud has made a fantastic start with our first crop (2022) with the prospect of having a horse qualify for *both* the Danish and Swedish Trotting Derbies!

LEO WYNN (DK) (top photo) is still looking for his first win of the season—having returned to Denmark and Jeppe Juel’s stable shortly before Christmas—but he has performed well, most recently finishing fifth in the Jydsk 4-Year-Old Grand Prix after a gallop.

His next challenge is the Derby trials at Lunden on Wednesday, August 12, where we naturally hope Leo Wynn will qualify for the Danish Trotting Derby.

Across the Øresund, we have LEVI WYNN (SE), who made a comeback last Tuesday for his new trainer, Joakim Lövgren, securing a brilliant victory with a time of 1.13.0a/2140 meters following an impressive performance.

Levi Wynn remains owned by Carsten Sørensen; it was his former trainer, Flemming Jensen, who recommended sending the son of International Moni to Sweden for training to give him the best possible conditions leading up to the major races of his four-year-old season.

Flemming Jensen himself did an outstanding job with Levi Wynn, who—prior to the move to Sweden—had recorded three wins and a second-place finish in his last four starts.

Now, the sights are set on the Swedish Trotting Derby!

The crop of 2022 also includes ISAAC WYNN (SE) with three wins and 235.000 SEK in Sweden.

As breeders, we are very proud of these two Derby candidates; it would be a HUGE achievement to have a horse qualify for both Derby races from a crop of just six horses!

Levi Wynn superior at Jagersro!

In his first start for trainer Joakim Lövgren at Jägersro on Tuesday, LEVI WYNN (SE) (file photo) won convincingly!

Levi Wynn

Starting from post 2, he had an easy start, but moved up into the outer lane and took the lead after approximately 550 meters.

Levi Wynn trottet the first 1,000 meters in 1:13.0 and won very easily in 1:13.0a/2,140 meters.

The firstprize of 40,000 SEK went to Levi Wynn, who is owned by Carsten Sørensen.

We look forward to seeing what comes next!

On the same day, LILLY WYNN (DK) competed at Solvalla, finishing fourth (7,500 SEK) with Fredrik B. Larsson in the bike in 1:15.4a/2,140 meters.

She took the lead at the start but yielded the position coming out of the first turn to the eventual winner.

Lilly Wynn stayed in contention right to the finish but was edged out into fourth place in the final meters, delivering a very promising performance.

Obama Wynn to Untersteiner

At Selected Sales Copenhagen Yearling Sale 1-yo OBAMA WYNN (DK) (colt by Maharajah-Awesome Annie) was sold Tomas Malmqvist, but the deal was cancelled and now he has been sold to Untersteiner Racing AB.

Vince Wynn with first win

After finishing second in his first three starts, 3-yo VINCE WYNN (SE) secured his first victory at Gävle on Friday!

He was quickest off the mark and took the lead but yielded after 450 meters to the second favorite, Mellby Onyx, who was trotting the first 500 meters in 1:12.5.

The kilometer mark was reached in 1:14.1.

Vince Wynn was boxed in around the final turn, but upon entering the home straight, Andreas Lövdal found a gap to launch an attack; he caught the favorite, Rob Roy Boko, right on the finish line to claim a narrow victory in a record time of 1:14.6a/2140 meters.

The winner’s prize was 50,000 SEK, bringing Vince Wynn’s total earnings to 102,500 SEK.
